The 902 acres of tidal Sitka spruce swamp that make up Blind Slough Swamp near Knappa became NCLC’s newest and largest habitat reserve in 2019. The Nature Conservancy of Oregon transferred the land to NCLC’s care after many years of collaborative stewardship by the two organizations. The transaction follows other transfers of property or conservation easements from TNC Oregon to NCLC—in the Gearhart Fen, atop Onion Peak, and in Sand Lake estuary.
